Headteacher's Welcome
It is my privilege to welcome you to Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School. We are proud members of St John the Baptist Catholic Multi-academy Trust and we work closely with our partners in these schools.
The teachings of Jesus Christ are at the centre of the values that we hold and embody in our interactions with each other. Learning is at the core of what we do and we strive to create happy, kind, resilient and spiritually hungry children and young people who will go on to make positive contributions to the world.
Our Catholic ethos is evident in the relationships between all children and adults and in the prayer life of the school. We are pleased to be an active member of the Parish of Sacred Heart and St Oswald's, and welcome our priest, Father Seelan, who regularly leads mass in school. Prayer is an important part of our school life and we pray together as a class four times per day as well as meeting for collective worship on a daily basis.
Our curriculum is broad, progressive and rooted in high-quality texts that support the development of language, vocabulary and oracy. We are proud to offer a diverse range of texts to study through children's time in school and this is reflective of our diverse school community. We use these texts to support the development of both reading and writing skills.
We work together as a community to provide a happy, secure and stimulating environment where children are motivated to learn, are valued as individuals and encouraged to meet their full potential.
We look forward to welcoming you to our school.

At Sacred Heart, every child is:
- valued and respected as an individual
- listened to and encouraged to participate fully
- encouraged to take responsibility for their actions
- motivated to do their best in everything
We offer learning experiences which:
- are fun, stimulating and creative
- encourage children to be environmentally aware
- help them to think how their actions impact on others, locally and globally
Together we live and learn; we play and pray
